St Augustine, FL
When my wife and I read an ad in The St Augustine Record about the book celebrating 450 years of St. Augustine, we rushed down to their office and bought two copies. I was delighted with the book and felt it was well worth the money spent.
I have personal knowledge of Drs. Graham, Sheppard and Smith — each of whom are identified as contributors, and whom I respect as experts in their respective knowledge of the history of St. Augustine. Together with inputs from the vast list of additional contributors, I felt comfortable that this book truly reflected an accurate history of our great city, and not just a touristy guide.
And then a strange thing happened … I noted that the book was printed in China. What in the world could make the city that represents local people publish the book of a lifetime in China?
There are numerous publishing houses in America I am sure would have taken on this task without giving the job to the latest up and coming enemy of the free world.
Are you nuts? This is the city’s “finest hour” and you printed it in China? Shame on you!
