Thirty-three actors have voiced the character of Lucy van Pelt in movies and television programs since the world famous 5¢ psychiatrist was introduced to leagues of Charlie Brown fans in 1963; but this year, for the first time, Historic City News reporters were entertained by St Augustine mayor Nancy Shaver as she reinterpreted the role.
Live on stage Saturday evening, December 12, 2015, Mayor Shaver joined an ensemble cast of local entertainers at DOS Coffee for a live performance of the classic holiday program, a Charlie Brown Christmas.
This was a non-ticketed event with suggested donations to benefit the outreach programs of Saint Augustine Community School of Performing Arts which provides music education to local Boys and Girls Clubs.
Devour Entertainment presented the live reading of the classic cartoon “A Charlie Brown Christmas” with music performed by the Danielle Eva Jazz Shebang.
DOS Coffee is located at 300 San Marco Avenue in Saint Augustine and offers entertainment weekly.
