Poll: The mission of local news reporting

Historic City News set out over 16-years ago with a simple purpose, a Toshiba laptop, and a shoestring budget. Arguably, a 40-year-old writer with too much time on his hands didn’t hurt.

Technology turned print-and-ink newspapers into dinosaurs in less time than it took for their interns to earn their journalism degrees. Good for us since we started out embracing multimedia communications on the Internet, and that’s how our growing audience likes it.

So, our question is not how to get information to our readers, we’ve got that. The question is one of content.
