Local Historic City News reporters have learned that Monday morning, Police Officer William Protami responded to Hazel’s Hot Dogs located at 2400 N. Ponce de Leon Boulevard to investigate an overnight break in.
According to the report, the burglary occurred sometime after the business was secured around 4:00 p.m. on Sunday and when an employee discovered it about 9:30 a.m. Monday morning.
About $200 in damage to the building was reported.
Community Affairs Officer Barbara Stevens of the St. Augustine Police Department reports that although nothing appears to have been taken from inside the restaurant, evidence was taken from the scene and the investigation is ongoing.
