When you think about it, fifty four years is a pretty long time.
Don’t you agree?
I’m sure my friend Dan Chitwood feels like 54 is no time at all, but, then again, a giant tortoise lives about 177 years in captivity.
Sue hasn’t had him in captivity quite that long.
The average age for a wireless phone, which hasn’t existed for fifty four years yet, is about six years — unless it is mine; in which case it is about six months.
Fifty four years is a long time if you are living in Swaziland — where the average life expectancy is only 39.5 years. Of course, Dan won’t eat sushi; but, if he would, and if he lived in Japan, he would feel young because the life expectancy of the Japanese people is about 81 years.
Nonetheless, 54 years is not quite 55 years, so he’s in no fear of passing me.
Enjoy your special day, Danny. Have a very Happy Birthday.
