Transient robberies and batteries reported

Historic City News has learned in an initial report from Sgt. Charles Mulligan this morning that two 17 year old juveniles are being booked at The Department of Juvenile Justice Facility adjacent to the county jail on Lewis Speedway.
The arrests are in connection with this morning’s aggravated battery and attempted robbery with a weapon against possible transients in an incident that reportedly occurred near SR 312; west of CBL Drive.
Mulligan reported that the St. Johns County Sheriff’s Office is looking for another person of interest in this case.
Two additional persons we interviewed from the scene this morning. Those subjects have been classified as witnesses at this time, however, the investigation into these crimes is continuing.

The St. Johns County Sheriff’s Office Violent Crimes Section has arrested two more juvenile suspects in Monday’s late night assault on three transients in St. Johns County.
The incident began when Patrol Deputies responded to a railroad overpass off S.R. 312, where one of the victims had called for assistance. Once on scene, deputies located several subjects in the surrounding area and detained them for questioning, while rescue treated and transported two of the victims to Flagler Hospital in critical condition.
Two 17 year-old persons who were are said to be cousins were detained earlier Tuesday were identified as suspects and arrested early Tuesday morning. As the investigation continued Tuesday, one suspect was being sought in connection with the case and an earlier witness was implicated to the crime.
Detectives arrested a 16 year old black male living in St. Augustine along with another 15 year old. Both have been charged with Attempted Robbery and Aggravated Battery.
