Historic City News has learned that international recording artist Art Garfunkel will team up with the Jacksonville Symphony Orchestra for a one-time only performance at the St. Augustine Amphitheatre on Sunday, February 8, 2009.
Art Garfunkel has had a career spanning over 50 years, much of it as the other half of the multi Grammy award winning duo “Simon and Garfunkelâ€.
With countless Billboard charting singles, selling more then 20 million records in the US Alone, and named one of Rolling Stone Magazine’s “Greatest Artists of All timeâ€, “Simon and Garfunkel†remain one of the most influential artists of the 21st century.
In 1990 “Simon and Garfunkel†were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, and in 2003 they received the Recording Academy’s Lifetime Achievement Award.
Art Garfunkel takes the stage with the Jacksonville Symphony Orchestra for a night to be remembered. They will perform standards from the American song book as well as “Simon and Garfunkel†hits such as “Bridge over Troubled Waterâ€.
The show will be Sunday, February 8, 2009. Gates open at 4:00 pm; show starts at 5:00 pm.
