Beach evaluates Comprehensive Plan
City of St. Augustine Beach Comprehensive Planning and Zoning Board announced a workshop meeting for tomorrow night, Thursday, June 12, 2008 at 7:00 p.m. to be held at City Hall, 2200 State Road A1A South in St. Augustine Beach.
This purpose of this meeting will be a continuation of the comprehensive plan evaluation and appraisal report process
The board will review the draft EAR submitted by the city’s EAR consultant, Janis Fleet, of Fleet & Associates, Architects/Planners Inc.
Per state law, the Florida Department of Community Affairs requires local governments to evaluate their respective comprehensive plans every seven years to assess both successes and shortcomings in these plans and the degree to which plan objectives have been met, and to identify ways they should be revised to respond to changing conditions and trends affecting local communities.
The draft EAR assesses the goals, objectives and policies in each element of the city’s comprehensive plan to determine which should be updated, amended or deleted to reflect current and future development and economic trends in future land use, transportation, housing, infrastructure, conservation and coastal management, recreation and open space, intergovernmental coordination, and capital improvements.
For more information on this workshop meeting agenda, please call the City of St. Augustine Beach Building and Zoning Department at (904) 471-8758.
Persons requiring special assistance should please call this number at least 24 hours in advance of the meeting date and time.
