Hamiltons
The Sierra Club recognized several local residents for environmental activism, leadership and service.

Pictured are award recipients Bryanne Hamilton, Tom Larson and Bill Hamilton.

Recipient of The Barred Owl Award, for a business that makes environmental concerns a major part of its presence in the marketplace, was Southern Horticulture of St. Augustine, owned by Bill and Bryanne Hamilton, who sell native Florida plants and also do private landscaping.

They refuse to apply, sell or use chemicals, pesticides, fungicides or herbicides. You can buy ladybugs there for pest control.

The Pine Tree Award, for outstanding group leadership, was presented to Tom Larson of the Northeast Group.

Also recognized with the Manatee Award, for outstanding service to the Group, was St. Augustine resident Gina Burrell.
