In an announcement received by Historic City News from Sterling Ivey in the public information office of Governor Charlie Crist, we learned today of the appointment of Phil Mays to serve on the St. Johns County Board of Commissioners.

Mays will fill the vacancy created by the suspension of Thomas Manuel and will serve during his suspension.

Phillip J. Mays, 41, of Ponte Vedra Beach, is the owner and operator of Mays Equities Inc.

Mr. Mays holds a law degree from the University of Florida College of Law and has been a member of the Florida Bar and Georgia Bar since 1992.
