Ryan Dettra reports to Historic City News yesterday that The St. Johns County Fairgrounds will host a Pro Rodeo event August 15th and 16th.
The action starts at 8:00 pm and tickets prices are just $12 for ages 12 and older and $7 for students ages 6 to 11. Professional rodeo performers from across the Southeast will be performing in a variety of rodeo events.
This Western-inspired event will feature entertainment for all ages including bull fighters, rodeo clowns, team and calf roping, barrel racing, and bull riding. Local youth will be invited to compete in youth barrel racing and roping competitions. “We’ll have some of the best bulls in the nation,†said Gernie Gieger, one of the rodeo’s organizers. Food, drinks, beer and wine will be available.
The rodeo will be held under a new 2,000 person covered arena at the St. Johns County Fairgrounds. Other recent improvements include additional restrooms, livestock barn improvements, additional lighting and additional bleacher seating.
Dust off your boots and head out to The Pro Rodeo on Friday and Saturday night, August 15 and 16. Gates open at 6:00 pm, and the rodeo starts at 8:00 pm. Tickets are available now; don’t miss out on your chance to see professional rodeo performers in action! For more information, please contact Gernie Gieger at 904-845-7492.
