In an announcement received by Historic City News this morning, the St. Johns County Republican Party’s Executive Committee (REC) informed us that they met recently to take positions in the November 4th General Election.
Current members of the St. Johns County Republican Party’s Executive Committee include Bob Veit-Chairman, Becky Reichenberg-State Committeewoman, Jon Woodard-State Committeeman, Harlan Mason-First Vice Chairman, Robert Champion-Second Vice Chairman, Joan Veit-Secretary, Stephanie Littlefield-Corresponding Secretary, Glenn Asbell-Treasurer, Reau Estes-Member-at-Large.
In addition to general endorsements of all Republican nominees in partisan elections and four other local races, the Republican Executive Committee took a strong position against the proposed county charter.
The REC felt the proposed charter could add more government and additional taxes to St. Johns County residents.
