Jay Humphreys, Communications Director of the Visitors and Convention Bureau has asked Historic City News to remind our readers that this Saturday night, visitors to St. Augustine will find a special sense of excitement and fun along San Marco Avenue when the monthly Uptown Saturday Night sparkles to life.
From 5 p.m. until 9 p.m., the galleries, antique shops and unique stores between Ripley’s Believe It of Not! Museum and the Mission of Nombre de Dios in St. Augustine’s San Marco Shopping District will remain open. Not only does this last-Saturday-of-the-month event offer great shopping opportunities, it creates a party-like atmosphere with meet-the-artists, book signings, live music, refreshments and other special events.
“Uptown Saturday Night is a great event every month, but combining it with this Saturday’s full day of St. Augustine Birthday activities makes a visit to the oldest city the perfect opportunity for family fun,†said Glenn Hastings, executive director of the St. Augustine, Ponte Vedra & The Beaches Visitors and Convention Bureau. “Great dining and shopping, the excitement of historic St. George and Aviles Streets and the Old World atmosphere of a city that ABC’s Good Morning America recently said was just like Spain, combine to make a visit to St. Augustine both memorable and fun.â€
CONVENIENT AND FREE PARKING for Uptown Saturday Night is available at the Mission of Nombre de Dios. The event is sponsored by the San Marco Avenue Merchants Association. For more information, call 904.824.3152.
