Two workshops scheduled for April 28 and April 30, are being held by the SJC Tourist Development Council (TDC) to assist not-for-profit groups in applying for Category II funding support for special events.
Last year, the TDC awarded $508,000 in Category II funding.
The Arts and Cultural Affairs Program funds efforts which will bring visitors to our area, enhance the experience of visitors and contribute to the quality of life for those visiting or living in the County.
Over forty different activities receive funding ranging from museums to holiday celebrations to historical reenactment. The County appointed an Arts and Cultural Affairs Funding Panel to review all requests for funding and to make recommendations to the Tourist Development Council (TDC) as to which activities should be funded and at what level.
Each workshop will provide a detailed review of the application guidelines for Category II funding. Groups applying must have a representative attend one of the TDC workshops or their application will be disqualified.
The first workshop is April 28 from 9:00 a.m. – 11 a.m. in the Wentworth Room of the SJC Convention Center at the World Golf Village.
The second workshop will be April 30 from 2:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. at the Ponte Vedra Library located at 101 Library Blvd.
RSVP for both workshops no later than Friday, April 24 by calling Dena Masters at 823-2680.
Remember, you must attend at least one workshop to be eligible to apply for Category II funding.
