Two juveniles escape Hastings Youth Academy

The search continues for Robert Hallock, one of two juveniles who escaped from The Hastings Youth Academy, according an alert received by Historic City News this afternoon.

The St. Johns County Sheriff’s Office received a call from the facility shortly after 1:00 p.m. that two subjects had climbed over a fence and were last seen running in a Westerly direction away from the facility.

Patrol and K-9 deputies along with support from the Sheriff’s aviation unit began searching the area a short time later.

The second suspect was identified as Mitchell Burnham, age 16, 5’06” and 125 lbs from Pensacola. Both have shaved heads and were last seen wearing grey facility shirts and navy blue Shorts.

Additionally, Burnham has “Love” and “Hate” tattooed on his hands.

Anyone with information or potential sighting is asked to contact The St. Johns County Sheriff’s Office at (904) 824-8304 or their local law enforcement Agency, should they be seen outside of St. Johns County.

Deputies have recaptured Mitchell Burnham when he was discovered within the area shortly after the escape.
