Vilano Beach Main Street – 4th of July events

Posted on 06/18/2008 By Historic City News

North Shores Improvement Association member Sacha Martin reported to Historic City News this morning that Vilano Beach Main Street will be hosting the annual 4th of July picnic and scooter-bicycle parade this year on the new and improved Vilano Road. Martin says that this will be the first event showcasing the beautifully landscaped Town Center.

“We’ll be marching, bicycling and scootering from the Intracoastal Waterway at the fishing pier and pavilion headed to the beach pavilion — you can’t get a better parade route than that!” said Vilano Beach Main Street Manager, Jennifer Sellars. “I promise you there isn’t a parade that can compare with our natural ambiance and our fun-loving community spirit”, added Sellars with a smile.

There will be prizes for various categories, hot dogs, lemonade, children’s games as well as a “wags and water” area for patriotic pooches. Registration will begin at 9:00 a.m. at the pier pavilion. The parade starts at 10:00 a.m. – ending at the beach pavilion and water park on the east end of Vilano Road.

Vendor space can be reserved and further information can be obtained from Linda Sellars at 910-8386.
