Yesterday, it was announced to Historic City News that the Vilano Beach Boat Ramp will be under construction between July 23 and October 6, 2008, for a project to dredge the boat ramp’s turning basin and access channel.
The ramp is expected to remain open during the dredging, but boaters should use the ramp at their own risk and exercise extreme caution.
Also, boaters should be aware that a large portion of the parking lot will be unavailable because it will be used as a temporary spoils drying area.
During the construction project, boaters are encouraged to use any of the other 11 public boat ramps in St. Johns County.
Questions may be directed to the Recreation and Parks Office at 209-0333.
