In an announcement from Cathy Dupont, Neighborhood Coordinator in the Department of Public Affairs, Historic City News was informed that King Street will be temporarily closed to traffic during evening hours.
The Public Works Department of the City of St. Augustine will be making improvements to the water main system in the area along King Street; from U.S. 1 to Riberia Street. King Street will be closed to all traffic Tuesday, July 1 at 9:00 P.M. until 6:00 A.M. Wednesday and again from Wednesday, July 2 from 9:00 P.M. to 6:00 A.M. Thursday.
Although the roadway will be closed to through traffic during construction, local residents and business owners will continue to have access.
Please remove any vehicles and objects that may be parked along the curb in the street. Any vehicle or object parked within the roadway past 9:00 P.M. on July 1, 2008, and July 2, 2008, will be relocated to a city owned parking lot.
