450th planning begins with June meeting

Posted on 05/12/2009 By Historic City News

City 450 Director Dana Ste. Claire, in his first update to commissioners on planning for our 500/450 commemorations, said strategic planning will begin in June with a meeting of the Mayor’s 14-member Working Group and Consultant Jeanne Zeidler.

That meeting will be June 18 from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. in Flagler College’s Ringhaver Student Center.

“A strategic plan will define broad range categories or committees that will allow people who are interested in participating in events to participate in their development,” Ste. Claire said, but he cautioned, “We are a good way out from establishing those committees.”

Ste. Claire said he’s talked with more than 100 individuals and groups in his first month in office, and had regular conference calls and email exchanges with Zeidler, who directed Jamestown’s 400th anniversary.

County bed tax monies are paying her consultant fee, to shape event and infrastructure models based on Jamestown’s commemoration.
