Melissa Lundquist reported to Historic City News that St. Johns County is currently accepting applications for the following Board and Committee vacancies.
CONTRACTOR’S REVIEW BOARD – One (1) Vacancy
Purpose of Committee: This board ensures proper administration of contractor licensing and discipline of licensees.
Qualifications: Must be a resident of St. Johns County for at least two years prior to appointment. Seeking resident not involved in the building industry.
Meeting schedule: Meets on the 4th Thursday of each month at 5:00 pm in the County Auditorium, 500 San Sebastian View.
Application Submission Deadline: September 25, 2009
LIBRARY ADVISORY BOARD – Three (3) Vacancies
Purpose of Committee: An advisory committee created to advise the County on the establishment, operation and maintenance of free public library service within St. Johns County.
Qualifications: Seeking representation from County Commission District 4 and two at-large representatives.
Meeting schedule: Meets on the 2nd Wednesday of each month at 9:30 am, with the meetings being held at various County facilities.

HISTORIC RESOURCE REVIEW BOARD – Four (4) Vacancies
Purpose of Committee: The purpose of this board is to advise the Board of County Commissioners regarding the Historic and Prehistoric Resources of unincorporated St. Johns County, and to identify, evaluate, document, designate and protect these resources.
Qualifications: Seeking appointees qualified through the demonstration of special interest, experience or education in the preservation of the County’s historic resources and those that have practical and professional experience in one or more of the following fields: archaeology, architecture, architectural history, history or historic preservation.
Meeting schedule: Meets the 1st Monday of each month at 3:30 pm in the Board of County Commissioners Executive Conference Room, 500 San Sebastian View.
