Historic City News learned last night that a settlement has been reached with four Plaza artists who successfully got a temporary injunction against the city in federal court.
Under the agreement, the city will pay $38,000 in attorneys’ fees and $10,000 to be divided among the four artists. The attorneys’ fee settlement is $14,000 less than originally sought.
City Attorney Ron Brown assured commissioners that the artists’ attorneys have been formally notified of the proposed new vending ordinances.
The commission voted to accept the proposed settlement.
