Historic City News has learned that ParkNow Cards will be given to the first 500 customers who pay their utility bill in person during the month of March.
Mark Litzinger, Comptroller for the City of St. Augustine, stated that the usual $2.50 fee for each card will be waived in order to familiarize the public with the ParkNow cards.
Each card will be loaded with 10 hours of free parking; valued at .50 per hour. After the time is expended, the card owner can re-fill the card in increments of $20, $50 or $100.
Parking is available at all city managed parking areas, including on-street spaces, parking lots, and the Historic Downtown Parking Facility at the Visitor Information Center located on Castillo Drive and Cordova St.
The Castillo de San Marcos lot will not accept the ParkNow cards however, on “pay on entry” days, cardholders will pay only $3.50 rather than the usual $7.
If you pay your utility bill online at www.staugustinegovernment.com, or have automatic withdrawal, you can simply stop by the Financial Services Center at 50 Bridge St. and pick up your card. The center is open weekdays, 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. For further information contact the Parking Division at 825.1034.
