Melissa Lundquist reported to Historic City News that the St. Johns County Board of County Commissioners is accepting applications for appointments to the Category II Arts/Grants Funding Panel and the Recreation Advisory Board.
The deadline for submissions is Friday, October 5.
Category II Arts/Grants Funding Panel
As part of the County Commission’s initiative to comprehensively examine the Tourist Development Council, they are soliciting applications for all seats on the Category II Arts/Grants Funding Panel. The Panel is an advisory committee to the Tourist Development Council charged with making recommendations regarding Category II Arts, Cultural and Special events from tourist development tax, or bed tax, revenues. The Panel meets quarterly at the County Administration Building in St. Augustine. The County is seeking applications from all County Commission Districts.
Recreation Advisory Board
Two vacancies currently exist on the Recreation Advisory Board. The Board acts as a sounding board for new ideas, assists in solving problems, acts as liaison to other governmental bodies, represents the Recreation and Parks Department on sensitive issues in the public arena and assists in the establishment and implementation of goals, objectives and budget preparations to provide leisure programs and facilities in St. Johns County. The Board meets the first Thursday of each month at 3:00 pm at the County Administration Building in St. Augustine. The County prefers representation from County Commission Districts 2 and 4.
