The City of St. Augustine reported to Historic City News that a water main break occurred on Cordova Street August, 13th — the break has now be repaired and contained.
Due to the break a water boil notice has been issued as of 3 p.m.
The areas affected are as follows: both sides of Cordova St. between Orange and Valencia streets; both sides of Hypolita between Spanish and Cordova streets; both sides of Spanish between Hypolita and Treasury streets; and both sides of Carrera between Cordova and Sevilla streets and the west side only of St. George St. between Hypolita and Treasury streets and all of St. Andrews Court.
As a precaution the City of St. Augustine cautions that all water used for drinking, cooking, making ice, brushing teeth or washing dishes be boiled. A rolling boil of one minute is sufficient. As an alternative, bottled water may be used.
This “precautionary boil water notice” will remain in effect until a bacteriological survey shows that the water is safe to drink and a rescission notice if issued.
