Posted on 03/22/2009 By Historic City News

The Flagler College Department of Theatre Arts will present the musical “Enchanted Sleeping Beauty” April 3 – 5 according to an announcement received by Historic City News.

In this classic tale, the baby Princess Briar Rose of Never Nod is cursed by a witch who is angry at not being invited to the child’s christening. Fairies try to soften the curse, but 16 years later, it is up to Prince Alexander to rescue the beautiful princess.

“Enchanted Sleeping Beauty” is filled with a variety of singing, dancing characters and is appropriate for all ages.

Performances will be held at the Flagler College Auditorium’s main stage April 3 at 7 p.m., April 4 at 1:30 p.m. and April 5 at 5 p.m. Tickets are $5 for children and college students, $8 for adults. A tea party with characters, food and drinks will follow the April 4 matinee and costs $5 per child.

The auditorium is located at 14 Granada St. For more information on “Enchanted Sleeping Beauty” and reservations for the tea party, please call Phyllis Gibbs, chair of theatre arts, at (904) 819-6217.
