The Friends of the Pet Center reported to Historic City News that they joined the Chamber of Commerce on September 25th for a ribbon cutting ceremony to celebrate their local organization.
The Friends of the St. Johns County Pet Center is a non-profit organization that supports the Pet Center and animals in the community.
The activities of the Friends include promoting humane care and treatment for all animals, working with the staff and volunteers of the Pet Center, assisting in finding suitable homes for the animals, educating the public, and supporting spay and neuter programs.
During last month, Animal Control stayed busy responding to 344 complaints and taking in 263 animals at the Pet Center, most of which were brought in by members of the public. The Pet Center also adopted 97 animals to new homes.
