County Administrator Michael Wanchick tells Historic City News he and the staff of the St. Johns County Public Library System have bid a fond farewell to Anastasia Island Branch Manager Susan Flynn.
“Flynn retired last month and will be dearly missed”, said Wanchick
Flynn’s retirement has triggered a number of re-assignments within the library system. Taking over as the new manager for the Island Library is Harold George.
George, who previously served as the Hastings Branch Manager, will be replaced by Brad Powell
Powell, who was the former Youth Services Librarian and Assistant Branch Manager in Ponte Vedra Beach, will be replaced by Anne Crawford .
Anne Crawford will be leaving her role as Assistant Branch Manager and Youth Services Librarian at Anastasia Island to step into Powell’s role at the Ponte Vedra Beach Branch.
Finally, the new Youth Services Librarian and Assistant Branch Manager at Anastasia Island will be Nicole Jebbia, formerly working in the Technical Services section.
“Congratulations to all on their new roles, and we are sure the community will enjoy working with these leaders”, Wanchick said.
Amid all of the changes taking place, the library system expressed appreciation to all the members of the community and to the Board of County Commissioners for the public support they received during the recent budget hearings.
Funding was provided to keep all current library hours and days throughout 2010.
The Library says that they are committed to serving the citizens and that they hope to continue earning the public’s support.
