Historic City News received a report of a fire in the wee hours of this morning that burned a pink two-story house to the ground in the Lincolnville community.
After the blaze was extinguished, the house located at the corner of Washington Street and Kingsferry Way was determined to be a total loss and uninhabitable.
According to reports from those on the scene, no one was hurt or killed. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
The displaced family is being helped, for now, by the American Red Cross and the generosity of neighbors.
Roger G. Jolley, who lives a half-block away, told Historic City News that the St. Augustine Fire Department did an excellent job. “Thank you all for your dedication and willingness to take risks for public safety”, Jolley said.
