City Chief Operations Officer John Regan reported to Historic City News that he hopes a proposed residential development on the north side of Holmes Boulevard will be “an anchor customer to facilitate transmission upgrades through West Augustine”.
City commissioners will be asked Monday night to approve an agreement between the city and the developer to provide utility service to the project; which may further the goal of a city and county agreement to develop utility services in the West Augustine Redevelopment Area.
“This proposed development gives our city the justification to invest in expanding our utility capacity and running utility lines the length of West King Street,” Regan said.
The county will be asked to approve extension of St. Augustine’s utility service area to the development and the developer will handle on-site infrastructure, if approved.
