Historic City News freelance photographer Christopher Kimball was on the scene a vehicle rollover that had traffic tied up on Shores Boulevard near Aurora Avenue for about an hour on Sunday morning.
The white, Buick sedan sat on its roof while St. Johns County Sheriff’s deputies investigated the scene of the single car accident.
One witness observed, “The vehicle just drifted off the road and hit the light pole. It went up in the air and landed on its roof.”
The driver and a young child passenger were reportedly returning from a family event when the accident occurred.
According to one Deputy who was collecting evidence, “The A arm is broken, but we are not sure if the accident is related to a mechanical failure or some other cause yet.”
St. Johns County Fire Rescue Engine 11 and Rescue 21 responded to check the driver and passenger and secure any hazards on the accident scene.
At this time, the accident is still under investigation. There were no injuries reported.
