St. Johns County and Keepers of the Coast reported to Historic City News that they will present the 3rd Annual St Johns County Sea Turtle Festival on Saturday, April 18.
The festival will take place at the St. Augustine Beach Pavilion Pier from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm.
This event is free to the public and offers plenty of family fun activities. Raffles and silent auctions will be happening throughout the day for a chance to win one of many wonderful prizes. Also, children may participate at the Children’s activity center, have their faces painted by the Flagler College Outdoor Club and explore the education station presented by Venture Crew Troop #345.
The Festival will include live music by Aslyn and the Naysayers and Saltwater Cowgirls.
Attendees will have opportunities to shop marine-related arts and crafts from local artisans, with food and drinks provided by Purple Olive and Fusion Tea.
Every spring and summer sea turtles return to nest along the St. Johns County coastline. People and sea turtles can co-exist if we take steps to share and protect this common habitat. Those who live in St. Johns County have a special opportunity and responsibility to protect these magnificent creatures and their vulnerable nesting and feeding habitat.
The public is invited to welcome the returning turtles by having an annual festival to educate the public on ways they can improve their habitat.
Keepers of the Coast is a non-profit organization whose primary goal is coastal conservation and beach stewardship.
