Vicky Oakes, Assistant Supervisor in the St. Johns County Supervisor of Elections Office, reported to Historic City News that the Special General Election for Florida Senate District 8 will be held Tuesday, October 6th to fill Senator Jim Kings’ seat.
The October 6th Special General Election is open to all voters residing in Senate District 8.
This is not a county wide election for St. Johns County. Only 27 precincts in St. Johns County are located in Senate District 8. Check your voter information card or our website www.sjcvotes.us for your Senate District.
Polls will be open 7 AM – 7 PM
ABSENTEE BALLOTS
Absentee ballots are available at the Supervisor’s Main Office. The Ponte Vedra Branch Office and the SE Annex are open for the Special General Election for absentee ballots 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.
In order to be counted, all voted absentee ballots must be in the Supervisor of Elections Main Office by 7:00 p.m., or by 4:30 p.m. at either Annex on election day.
Voted absentee ballots cannot be turned in at the polls.

Write-in names do not appear on the ballot. One space is provided for a write-in candidate.
In order to vote for a candidate whose name is not printed on the ballot, complete the arrow, and write in the candidate’s name on the blank line provided for write-in candidates.
