Jenny O’Dell reported to Historic City News that at noon on Friday, candidate qualifying for Senate District 8 officially closed.
Voters are reminder that, Florida is a “Closed Primary” State, and elector’s are required to vote the official primary ballot of the political party designated in the elector’s registration as of book closing, and no other.
The Tuesday, September 15, 2009 Special Primary Election will be a Republican Primary Election only. This will not be a countywide election for St. Johns County. Only 27 precincts in St. Johns County are located in Senate District 8. Voters should refer to their voter information card or contact the Elections Office to verify their Senate District.
The Supervisor of Elections Office will be open on Labor Day, Monday, September 7, 2009 from 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.
Early Voting will take place September 7 – September 12 Monday – Saturday 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. at one location ONLY:

There will also be a Special General Election on Tuesday, October 6, 2009, which will be open to all voters of Senate District 8.
