Florida Public Archaeology Network Outreach Coordinator Amber Grafft-Weiss reported to Historic City News today on the progress of Florida Archaeology Month events.
Friday, March 13, City of St. Augustine Archaeologist Carl Halbirt will be talking at the Visitors’ Information Center. Reserve your seat to hear about “The Case of the Disarticulated Donkey.” Seating is limited, so call 825-1029 to reserve your spot for the 10am or 2pm talk.
Saturday, March 14, FPAN will have a table at the Azalea Days Festival at Ravine Gardens State Park. Bring the kids out to make pets out of Florida’s Pet Rock, coquina!
Tuesday, March 17, FPAN’s own Sarah Miller will give a fascinating, family-oriented talk at the Southeast Branch Library in St. Augustine. She will present tales of “Fantastic Archaeology: Frauds, Myths, and Mysteries” that will be fun for kids of all ages. See the attached flier for more information.
