There are many choices reported to Historic City News for entertainment in America’s Oldest City this weekend according to Communications Director Jay Humphreys with the St. Augustine Visitors and Convention Bureau.

TWELFTH NIGHT BALL
Relive the old tradition of celebrating the Feast of the Epiphany with a costume ball in St. Augustine. This is the “Ball for Gentry and Common Man” held at Government House at the west end of the Plaza de la Constitucion. Participants must be dressed in 18th century costume of any nation, as well as bring one pot luck dish and wine, if so desired. Each attendee should also provide his or her own antique plate and eating utensils. Turkey, ham and punch will be served. THREE PENNY SYMPHONY MAC FRAMPTON: POP GO THE CLASSICS
Enjoy celebrated pianist and arranger Mac Frampton, accompanied by The Three Penny Symphony, in a production that merges his conservatory training with his mastery of the pop and jazz idioms, bringing to the stage fresh and original interpretations of revered classical works. SUNSET/MOONRISE TOUR
Be a guest of the St. Augustine Lighthouse and enjoy viewing the sunset and moonrise from the most unique perspective in all of St. Augustine! This special event includes a champagne toast, provided by San Sebastian Winery, atop the tower and an informative overview of the history of the St. Augustine Light Station. The tour takes place from 5 to 6:30 p.m. at the St. Augustine Lighthouse located at 81 Lighthouse Ave. in St. Augustine. The fee is $25 for non-museum members and $20 for members. BIRD WALK AT FORT MATANZAS
Enjoy a walking tour and an opportunity to see some of the area’s popular birds. With a variety of habitats to call home, bird life is abundant at Fort Matanzas National Monument. Join volunteer naturalist Veronica Peterson on an easy, 2-hour walk to explore the birds and perhaps other critters who call Fort Matanzas home. Bring binoculars and dress for the weather. The Bird Walk is free and takes place from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. Fort Matanzas National Monument is located on A1A at the south end of Anastasia Island approximately 15 miles south of St. Augustine. FRIENDS OF WASHINGTON OAKS GARDENS PLANT SALE
Join the Friends of Washington Oaks for their 2nd Saturday Plant Sale from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. A portion of the plants for sale were propagated and grown right there in the park by volunteers. HOLLY JOLLY TROLLEY TOUR
Enjoy the Nights of Lights from the cozy comfort of the Holly Jolly Trolley! Tours feature festive caroling, hot apple cider and homemade cookies. See the Nights of Lights flicker to life each evening from a different perspective – the deck of the beautiful sailing schooner Freedom! The daily sunset cruise departs the St. Augustine City Marina at 4:15 p.m. and returns at 6:15 p.m. Tickets are $45 and include complimentary beverages and snacks. IMAX SNOW DAYS
Feel the winter chill when the IMAX Theatre at the World Golf Hall of Fame presents Snow Days – a variety of cold-weather movies including Antarctica: An Adventure of a Different Nature; Everest; Lewis and Clark: Great Journey West; and Alaska: Spirit of the Wild. Presented on the giant IMAX screen, the movies transport viewers to a variety of snow-covered locations. Tickets for individual movies are $8 for adults with discounts for children, military, seniors and students. The movies are also included in the theatre’s 10th anniversary promotion that offers tickets to two movies for only $10. Snow Days runs through Sunday, January 18.
