The St. Augustine Alligator Farm Zoological Park suffered a “squeeze” over the summer when its white zoo van was wrapped in large decals depicting a 20-foot Reticulated Python flexing its muscles and looking like it was about to make the van its next meal.
But the novelty of the new van wrap was short-lived.
In early August, just two days after the van came home to the park from the decal vendor with its new images, the van was struck by a drunk driver in The Alligator Farm’s own parking lot.
The decals were ruined.
But the python hadn’t given up yet.
A few weeks later, the necessary repairs made, the python had returned again to continue putting the squeeze on the white van as it makes its way around Anastasia Island and throughout St. Augustine.
Watch for the van in your neck of the woods.
“Our wildlife is tenacious,” said John Brueggen, Director and General Manager of The Alligator Farm. “Our critters are survivors, and they don’t give up easily. I’m glad to see the python back in action on the sides of our van. I hope he stays right where he is.”
