The Florida Department of Veterans’ Affairs has informed local news reporters in St. Augustine that they have named Michelle “Mickey” Carroll as the new administrator of the Clyde E. Lassen State Veterans’ Nursing Home.
Carroll comes to the department after serving more than 26 years in the long-term care field as a Licensed Practical Nurse, Assisted Living Administrator and Nursing Home Administrator.
“The department is excited to have Ms. Carroll join our team,” said State Veterans’ Homes Director Renee Day. “She brings a wealth of knowledge and experience in facilities operations and services to the job.”
Licensed as a Nursing Home Administrator in 2004, Carroll holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Healthcare Administration from the University of North Florida and is a certified Nursing Home Administrator through the American College of Healthcare Administrators.
“I’m honored to have the opportunity to serve Florida’s veterans at this new facility,” said Carroll. “I look forward to working with the department, the staff and the many veterans’ groups involved in providing top quality services to our residents.”
The 120-bed Clyde E. Lassen State Veterans’ Nursing Home is scheduled to open later this year.
