Veddy Theatre Group announced to the St. Augustine local news desk that they will hold auditions for a presentation of “Bernie’s Deli” written by local playwright Stanley Weintraub.
If you would like to be considered for the cast, attend the auditions at Prosperity Bank Meeting Room, located at 790 North Ponce de Leon Blvd., at the corner of U.S. 1 and West Castillo Drive, on February 23, 2010, at 7:00 p.m.
Come prepared to read from the script. Script sides will be available for review at the audition beginning at 6:30 p.m. If available bring a headshot and resume.
The production date is April 27, 2010, to be presented for Temple Bet Yam during Deli Night festivities.
Approximately six rehearsals will be scheduled in March and April.

BERNIE – Deli owner. Mid 50’s to 60’s. Moderate Jewish dialect… See More
IRVING – Hispanic busboy. Mid-30’s. Speaks English with Spanish accent
MENDELSOHN – Senior citizen. Pronounced Jewish accent
ABIE – 50’s waiter. Speaks with heavy Jewish inflection
4 WOMEN CUSTOMERs – Middle aged and up
MALE CUSTOMER – 30’s to 40’s
BIRNBAUM – Lawyer
MAITRE’D / Arthur– Bernie’s son, 30’s, artist type
MR. FOX AND LADY – Yuppie customers
MEREDITH – Mid-20’s college student
BRUCE – All-American athletic type
