Historic City News has been informed by Michelle Reyna that St. Augustine has been honored with an invitation to participate in the Inaugural Gubernatorial Parade for Governor-Elect Rick Scott on January 4, 2011.
Chamber of Commerce Ambassador Randy Brunson and heritage native Michelle Reyna of City Gate Productions have coordinated a delegation to travel to Tallahassee for the 2:00 p.m. parade.
With financial assistance from the Tourist Development Council, the Royal Family and their entourage will appear in an Avalon carriage pulled by a double team of horses. This year’s trio includes Teresa Foster Tezack as Queen Mariana; Katie Raulerson as Princess Margarita Maria; and Mathew Wood as the boy King Carlos. The three re-enactors preside over Easter Festival activities each year and represents St. Augustine at numerous out-of-town events.
The Bartram Trails High School Marching Band will lead the delegation followed by a black Spanish Galleon float in the company of members of the Men of Menendez.
Local dignitaries and members of the community at large will participate as well as other 16th Century re-enactors from the area — dressed in period clothing.
