Local St. Augustine reporters at Historic City News have learned that sometime Wednesday night, an unknown person entered a construction site on Alerto Avenue and stole over $2,000 worth of tools.
According to the police report filed by Police Officer Walter Makowski, the construction foreman at 231 Alerto Avenue discovered $2,165 worth of tools missing when he returned to the job site on Thursday at about 1:30 p.m.
Makowski determined that the likely point of entry was a window that he found unsecured.
Community Affairs Officer Barbara Clifford of the St. Augustine Police Department reports that evidence was taken from the scene and the investigation is ongoing.
