County Administrator Michael D. Wanchick reported to the St. Johns County local news desk that The Office of Management and Budget has published several financial plan documents on the County website under the Management and Budget page.
Fiscal year 2010 County Financial Plan, the fiscal year 2010-2014 Capital Improvement Plan (CIP), and the fiscal year 2010 Budget-in-Brief as well as the fiscal year 2009 4th Quarter Performance Measures Report have all been published.
Also, Wanchick says that the County has applied for the Government Finance Officers Association’s national budget presentation award; seeking the award for the 18th consecutive year.
The GFOA requires the budget document to meet specified criteria as a policy document, a financial plan, an operations guide, and a communications device in order to be eligible.
Management and Budget Director Doug Timms serves as a national budget reviewer for GFOA. “Timms has completed over 75 budget reviews of governments across the nation which allows for comparisons and management insights,” Wanchick said.
