Today is day-two of efforts across southern St. Johns County and Putnam County as part of the renewed search for Rebecca Ware; according to information released to Historic City News by the St. Johns County Sheriff’s Office.
The wooded area off SR-206 near CR-305 that was combed by searchers yesterday yielded no new evidence; however, Media Relations Officer Kevin Kelshaw told Historic City News reporters that already accumulated evidence indicates foul play and detectives have identified a person of interest in Ware’s mysterious disappearance.
“Detectives will be looking in other areas in the days to come,” Kelshaw said of the 34-year old St. Johns County woman this morning.
Ware was last seen at 4:15 p.m. when she left work at Hydro America three weeks ago. Ware’s home is on Phoenetia Drive in St. Augustine Shores.
A week after her disappearance, investigators located Ware’s abandoned car in the Wildwood Drive Publix parking lot.
Hydro America has offered a $5,000 reward for information for locating the victim. Anyone with any information concerning the disappearance of Rebecca Ware can remain anonymous and possibly be eligible for a cash reward by calling CrimeStoppers of Northeast Florida at 1-888-277-TIPS (8477) or contact detectives with the St. Johns County Sheriff’s Office at (904) 824-8304.
