Fishing equipment stolen from docked boat

Posted on 09/01/201009/01/2010 By Historic City News

Local St. Augustine reporters at Historic City News have learned that Monday afternoon, Police Officer Jon Niederriter responded to 915 South Ponce de Leon Boulevard to investigate the theft of fishing equipment from a boat in a local marina.

A private investigator representing the owner of about $18,200.00 worth of rods and reels reported them stolen from his client’s boat which was moored at the dock of Sebastian Harbor Villas.

All together, 21 sets of rods and reels which had been secured in a locked cabinet were missing. Police were told that there was a spare key that could have been used to unlock the cabinet.

Community Affairs Officer Barbara Stevens of the St. Augustine Police Department reports that the investigation is ongoing.
