The Florida League of Cities notified Historic City News that they will sponsor this year’s Florida City Government Week; which is a special time to recognize the significant role played by city government in our everyday lives.
More importantly, it’s a time to let everyone know that “city government” is the part of “government” that is the closest to the people it represents.
Mayor Boles and St. Augustine City Commissioners Nancy Sikes-Kline, Leanna Freeman and Don Crichlow will visit R. B. Hunt, Ketterlinus, and Crookshank Elementary schools and Cathedral Parish School to lead the Pledge of Allegiance beginning Monday, October 18th.
Through participation in Florida City Government Week activities, the youth of the community can become more informed residents, and, in the future, more knowledgeable about their responsibility as good citizens.
