Friends of Anastasia State Park bird walks

Friends of Anastasia State Park member Dennis Salvati reported some upcoming bird walks to the Historic City News local St. Augustine news desk that might be of interest to our readers.

Bird Walk at Anastasia State Park – Sunday, February 7, 2010 (8:30-10:30 a.m.)

Come meet the birds at Anastasia State Park. Led by a park volunteer, fun, informative walk is open to the public and to birders of all levels. The park is a great place to see shorebirds, warblers and more. Please dress for the weather and bring binoculars and a field guide if you have one. Walks are free; park entrance fees apply. Meet at Island Joe’s shop at the end of the park road.

Bird Walk at Fort Mose State Historic Park – Sunday, February 14, 2010 (8:30-10:30 a.m.)

Come meet the birds at Fort Mose State Historic Park. Led by a park volunteer, this fun, informative walk is open to the public and to birders of all levels. We’ll walk the boardwalk, see the rookery, and visit the education building. Please dress for the weather and bring binoculars and a field guide if you have one. Walks are free; park entrance fee applies. Fort Mose is on Highway 1, one mile north of Route 16.

When you join Friends of Anastasia State Park, or renew your Friends membership now, you will receive 12 free admissions to Anastasia State Park for one full year. You can join, renew or donate online using their “E-Form” page.

Once submitted, you will be informed where to send your tax deductable membership donation. If you would like, you may also submit your membership or donation using a paper form (via US Mail) by visiting their “Mail-Form” page.

Membeship levels are: Individual or Family = $25 / Non-Profit = $75 / Cororate – $150 / Lifetime = $250 / Donation (any amount appreciated).
