Going the Extra Mile in Bunnell

Angela Hamilton reported to Historic City News that the City of Bunnell has partnered with the Bunnell Chamber of Commerce to host the 1st Annual “Going the Extra Mile” event.

Each year the Volusia/Flagler County chapter of the American Cancer Society hosts a “Making Strides against Breast Cancer” event where individuals help raise money for breast cancer research, education, and patient support services at the Local Level.

The Making Strides against Breast Cancer event is a 3.2 mile (5K) walk that begins and ends at
Riverfront Park in Daytona Beach, FL however, several individuals have expressed a desire to walk here at the crossroads of Flagler County.

“Go the extra mile” is a planned 4 mile walk and gives an opportunity for the people of Flagler County, that cannot attend the walk in Daytona Beach, to show their support in honoring breast cancer survivors, raising awareness about the disease, and helping to save lives.

When: Saturday, October 23, 2010 Registration @ 7:30am Walk begins @ 8:00am
Where: Bunnell City Hall, 200 S Church Street
