Priscilla Proctor, Coordinator of College and Public Relations, announced to local St. Augustine reporters at Historic City News that Flagler College Magazine has won a second gold award in the 2010 MarCom Awards competition, and a brochure about the college’s “Study Abroad” program also won a gold award.
The MarCom Awards recognize achievement by marketing and communication professionals throughout the country including colleges and universities, Fortune 500 companies, marketing and advertising firms, and non-profit organizations.
Flagler College Magazine is edited by Public Information Director Brian Thompson and was entered in the magazine-educational institution category. The study abroad brochure was designed by Marketing Communications Director Carrie Pack Chowske and was entered in the brochure-educational category.
In the magazine category, other gold award winners were the University of Kansas School of Business, Ohio State University and Monmouth University. Other gold award winners in the brochure category included Texas A&M University-Commerce and Wharton County Junior College.
This is the second year in a row the magazine has won an award in the competition. The magazine has a circulation of 20,000 and primarily goes out to the college’s 12,000 alumni and other supporters, Proctor said.
