St. Johns County Traffic Unit Deputy J.D. McGinnis told Historic City News reporters that they responded to a head on crash between two vehicles on Coastal Highway A1A North at the intersection of Gardner Avenue in Vilano Beach before midnight last night.
The crash occurred when a 1985 Toyota sedan driven by 49 year-old Michelle Millero, a resident of Vilano Beach, made a left turn into the path of a 2002 Chevrolet pickup truck.
The driver of the pickup, 59 year-old Roy Smith, denied being injured.
Two passengers in the pickup truck, 48 year-old Antoinette M. Smith and 13 year-old Elena M. Smith, reported injuries and were taken by rescue to Flagler Hospital for evaluation.
Millero was taken by Life Flight air ambulance to Shands Jacksonville with non-life threatening injuries.
Alcohol is suspected to be a factor in the crash. Charges are pending a full investigation.
