Public Information Officer Debra Johnson told local St. Johns County reporters with Historic City News that deputies in Flagler County are investigating a Palm Coast convenience store robbery that occurred last night.
The 28 year-old clerk told deputies a man came into the store at 1201 Palm Harbor Parkway around 8:41 p.m. The man walked over to a cooler and lowered his collar while he waited for another customer to leave the store.
When the clerk was alone, the robber ran to the front counter and demanded the clerk turn over the money in the register. The clerk said she stepped toward the register to push the panic button, but the robber held out a knife while threatening her.
After taking the cash, the man fled the scene.
“This man armed himself and threatened the clerk, so he is considered dangerous. We are hoping the community can help us track him down,” said Sheriff Donald W. Fleming.
The suspect is described as a black male, about 45-years-old, six feet tall with short, gray hair. He was wearing a multi-colored flannel shirt with a black undershirt, white sneakers and brown shorts.
Anyone with information on the incident is asked to contact the Flagler County Sheriff’s Office at (386) 313-4911 or CrimeStoppers at 1-888-277-8477 where you may be eligible for a reward.
