Inexperienced bidders can attend mock tax sale

“The Internet tax certificate process is fast-paced and can bewilder the novice,” St. Johns County Tax Collector Dennis Hollingsworth told local reporters with Historic City News.

To make the process comfortable and familiar to inexperienced bidders, there will also be opportunities to practice with seven “mock sales” scheduled during May.

This will give bidders the experience to register and engage in hands on practice bidding prior to the actual sale.

These “mock sales” will be held as follows: May 13, 10 a.m. and 4 p.m.; May 18, 10 a.m. and 6 p.m.; May 21, 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. and May 22 at 10 a.m. The intent of this schedule is to offer any interested bidders ample opportunity for practice.
